Wheel Throwing for Begginers + (six weeks)
Starting February 21st., and until March 28th…
Every Tuesday from 6 to 9 pm.
This workshop is to advance further the skills learned at the Beginners Workshop. During the six weeks, we will be:
1- Perfecting centering skills: three intensive hours of centering and correcting mistakes.
2- Throwing Cylinders: practice on 5 1/2 Inch cylinders with 12oz of clay.
3- Working with 3 Lbs of Clay: medium-sized bowls with shape control.
4- Tumbler throwing and Glazing: how to use Cold Wax, Dip glazing with tongs, and proper base cleaning. One hour of tumbler throwing.
5- Throwing a 12-piece dinnerware set: making the first dinnerware set, including four dinner plates, four salad plates, and four soup bowls.
6- Finishing the dinnerware set: trimming, smoothing, and adding surface deco.
The workshop includes an extra session (Saturday morning) of brush glazing (glaze cost not included, from 22.00 to 54.00 per set -depending on glaze) or dip glazing (not added cost but limited to white glaze).
